Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Deluxe Edition collects the essential games from the early years of Mortal Kombat, and this is the Deluxe Edition on a physical Nintendo Switch game card. If you want the arcade-era roots of the franchise, this is the collection built for it. A collection built around the franchise's history The collection follows Digital Eclipse's approach of pairing classic games with the story behind them. Alongside the games you get lore content: a timeline of the original series' storyline and character histories with background on how the fighters were created. It also draws on an interactive documentary format, with interviews with the original developers, concept art, vintage marketing materials and archival footage. For a series that has been running for over 30 years, that context adds a lot to the arcade-era games themselves.
